website

Today i met the group in the library to create our website. I think it is going well. We have a section for videos, pictures, and games. We also have a fun fact, thesis, and works cited section. I downloaded the pictures of animals breastfeeding in nature to go with our main theme-let nature nurture. We also have an 'about me' section where we write our own thoughts and a little bit about ourselves. Another section is where people can post their own thoughts about the site and breastfeeding making the website more involved.

healthcare

The other day i viewed on yahoo(best ever!) that the house passes the national healthcare bill. I like this. Don't get me wrong, i dont like taxes either. but i think in the long run that maybe it will be a good thing.
some argue,"why should i pay more for some hobo on the street corner to get healthcare?" well, if you were that hobo wouyldn't you want healthcare? if you don't have anything don't you at least want your health? People who have healthcare already take it for granted. for some horrible reason, i dont wish this on anyone, what if you or someone you loved got cancer and insurance companies decided you were too expensive to help with medical bills, so they cut you off. not everyone has money, and those bills are expensive. this is a reason many people become homeless, jobless, and families break up because of this. wouldn't you like to know that no matter what your friends and family are getting taken care of because of national healthcare?
plus, if those hobos are healthier, they can get a job and contribute to society.
It would be just like donating to a charity. even with most charities, you never know if what you donated actually gets to who you think its for.
can't we all just get along.
quit being jerks please. thank you.
p.s. i hate politics.

google it.

yahoo is by far a better home page than google. Google is just a search bar but, yahoo has current events and usually very interesting articles about random things. Its a good way to procrastinate or, find out some news, or learn something totally wierd. google is just boring. the coolest thing about it is the name google. For real, yahoo expands your mind while google takes you directly to facebook wasting your life. try it out sometime.

records

i am a big fan of records even though they are very archaic. i think they are secretly magic. how does one really long groove carved into a piece of plastic create the sound of any music when a needle touches it? it is just amazing to me. I love my records and record player. I am sad that it was way too big to bring with me. theyre more impressive that an ipod or something. yeah you can fit a million songs in a little chip but dude, records are just awesome. the best quality sound comes out of records. also casettes(not as beast but pretty cool). the best records are used ones that you find for like eight bucks at used music stores. Theres this place in my hood called The Gig that has walls and walls of cassettes and cd's and a billion bins of records. it sucks that like every beatles recor is like sixty bucks!!! yeah, i know im wierd because i buy records when i could easily likewire some music for free. that pitnt is, records are art. and it reminds me of a simpler and triiper time!

blogging

So, i feel like since this is an english class assignment that a blog is a really awkward thing to write. This is because i feel like i should write al ice and proper but, its a blog and its hard to not write how i talk. Also, i think i just rant in all of my blogs is that what im supposed to do? i feel like foamy the squirrel.

Muy Importante!!! i saw that movie Paranormal Activity. not impressed or scared in the least bit. i cant believe people were scared by this. when people say, "i had to sleep with the lights on!" i just want to laugh in their faces. Lets get a few things strait; i acutally like crappy horror movies and i didnt like this one. AND i was super stoked about it.way over hyped. the blair witch project was better than this. while watching it i was litterally in the theater checking the clock to see how much longer it was gonna be. that is a sign of a boring movie. the whole first hour and a half was soooooo boring. the last fifteen minutes was the only semi-interesting part of the movie. i cant freakin believe people were genuinely terrified after seeing this.

aaaaannnnnd, a (stupid) friend of mine tried to convince me that it was real. and thats why there wasnt any credits at the end of the movie because they found the tape. yeah freakin right. thats freakin ridonkulus. people need to grow brains. i can grow one for you. in a petri dish. fa sho.

Halloween!!!

Happy halloween to all. this is the greatest holiday ever. It does not have some secret meaning or conspiracy behind it. well, besides the folks that dont make their costumes and the devils at the Hallmark card company. Really now, you can make your own extremely slutty costume. My costume costed me approximately ten dollars to make and it is just as slutty if not more and more origional than those cheap...not so cheap $30 costumes at the store.
furthermore, why would you send someone a card on halloween anyways? throw some candy at them, or make the card. that says hey, i care enough to make an embarrassingly crappy card with my own two hands.
Jack-o lanturns!!! tis a must do for halloween traditions. pumpkin carving is a form of art and should be treated as such; and like all art tis subjective. so, even if you fail at life, make a jack o lanturn, its fun!
ps. fall =best season ever!

What's Chocolate, Australian, and Not the Easter Bunny?

so, this article is about australia and an endangered species living there called the bilby. It a marsupial that is realatet to bunnies. Part of the reason they are endangered is because bunnies have overpopulated the land kicking out the bilby. Thomas austin released twenty four rabbits on his property one day to hunt them for sport. After twenty years they have over populated and are now Australia's number one pest. Bunnies damage the land and create deserts by eating all the plants. Since the bunny is killing the bilby, Australia decided to adopt the Bilby in place of the easter bunny. Instead of chocolate bunnies, there are chocolate Bilbys. Funds from the sale of the chocolate bilbys go towards helping the endangered animals.

I think it is good that they are trying to save the species and it was very unresponsible to release a foreign animal onto Australia. And now bunnies are pests. Karma man, karma. Bilbys are pretty cute, they're like a mix between rats and bunnies.

oh yeah, the weather...

why is it that in muncie once it rains once it is crappy for like a week? at least in the hood it only rains for one day at a time. also, i keep hearing people complain how cold it is. this is not cold people. oh no you have to wear a hoodie. that makes it cold! wrong-o. its not cold. you'll know when its cold. it normally happens when tiny flecks of ice fall out of the sky called snow. that means its cold. its not freezing until its 32 degrees. quit crying.

fall is perfect hoodie season.

I don't understand my Graduating Class

i have heard word of three of my classmates from high school ditching the good schools that they got into and going to purdue calumet. I must admit i have an extreme dislike of that school because i live so close to it i can walk there from my house. so i know how it is. These three girls are all ten times smarter than me and got in to the good purdue, iu bloomington, or some other awesome place. Alas, they are transferring! what are they thinking! i cant believe that the popular, pretty, smart girls that were all crazy in high school are scared of college and running home like wee little puppies. Especially since they all had scholarships and such. They are freakin crazy. If you have the oppertunity to leave home you take it. enough said. freakin crazy.

hammond is the place you love to hate. ew. purdue cal. no offence meant.

21st Century Breakdown

this great song by green day is the one im probably going to do my analysis on, although off the top of my head i can't think of how it relates to the novel. But, after complete analysis i should be able to come up with something. I didn't pick it just cause i like it, thats just a bonus. it would be very easey to analyze because of the lyrics. there are many variations in the meanings of the words. The entire song can be thought of in like three different ways! insane in the membrane! like all punk rock songs its got a hint of "rawr-me-no-like-government," and i think we can all agree with that.

Ishmael Beah

This presentation was not as boring as i expected. I was sure it was going to be interesting but, with my experience these types of things make me sleepy. It was pretty entertaining because he was mildly funny and he was right, it is cool to hear the author read his own work. I thought it was smart of him to tell one person who asked a question to research as much as you can and then you can figure out a way to help by yourself because this way, by doing research you can discover what that country really needs instead of just what you heard can help. Plus, the Kanye thing ws hilarious!

Museum of Art

i know i already wrote about art but now its more relevant to ball state. the art museum here is really good. it has a fairly large variety of art. it has really old statues like egyptain looking art and art from distant islands. The paintings are huge and awesome! I have already expressed my love for oil painting. there is an oil painting here that is so detailed that i had to do like a tripple take becasue from a distance i could have sworn that it was a photograph. It was so detailed! more so than the normal oil paintings. im pretty sure it was created in the 1800s in Russia. you'll know when you see it. A lot of the abstract art is entertaining. there is an oil on velvet painting that is basically a bunch of colorful words like 'mishap' and i can vividly remember'stepped on you dick'. i know, i was shocked too. in conclusion, go see the art museum. i recommend it. plus, it has a whole bunch of awesome buddha statues! also a lot of jesus paintings.

The Enlightened One

the buddha was an amazing man. for those of you who do not know, buddhism is not a religion, it is a philosophy; a way of life. Buddha is not worshiped as a god, he is just a man with vast wisdom who helps people by enlightening them. Buddha is all about gaining wisdom and living a happy life. who would argue with that?

memoir idea?

when brainstorming in class today, i wrote about my little Monkey. i know this is going to sound wierd but, one of my best friends is a mother, monkey is her daughter. yeah, i know she isnt even my child, but i feel like she is important in my life and her birth was an important event. Im sure that if i wrote it all out i would have learned something thinking back on that experience, and i believe it could be quite entertaining for the reader.

otherwise, i can't really think of anything else to write about so, ima have to go with that.

here's what i wrote in class today:

I have a very good friend, a best friend, whom I have known for many years and experienced many things with. We had known each other since the fifth grade, but in our junior year something happened that no one would have expected. "I'm pregnant,"she told me. I didn't know what else to do so I laughed. I am fully aware that it is an asshole move, but i was so shocked and scared for her that laughter is the only response i had. yeah, its not like i was the 'prego' but being good friends ,i was directly influenced by her situation. She was part of a big ol' contraversy. My dear friend joined what we called...

thats all i wrote so far. its goin ta be a long memoir.
ps. sorry for wasting your time.

Biology, anthropology, and chemistry...OMG!

I am genuinely saddened that I only have my Biology 112 class two times a week. I wish i had that class every day. totally stoked for the two hour labs!

Anthropology is so interesting! Don't even get me started on creationism! Darwin was the man. not the man with all the answers, but certainly the man with a booty kickin theory.

Chemistry has a ginormous amont of math associated with it but its pretty sweet. Gotta tell ya, these scientists must have had like no lives to think up some of this junk. stupid sig figs!

I totally love all of my teachers! they make four hours of chemistry fly by, dead things entertaining, and bacteria interesting.

its all about the science.

I Heart Art.

i love art. there are so many great things about it. there are many different types of art and you don't need to be an artist to make it. you can make anything into art. i think chuck taylors count as an art medium. likewise, you can find art in almost any aspect of life. I have mad respect for people who beast oil painting. Salvador Dali, Van gogh, and Da vinci are strait up G's. Movie directors are artists. im jealous of tim burton's imagination. Tattoo artists. that's all im goina say.
