so, this article is about australia and an endangered species living there called the bilby. It a marsupial that is realatet to bunnies. Part of the reason they are endangered is because bunnies have overpopulated the land kicking out the bilby. Thomas austin released twenty four rabbits on his property one day to hunt them for sport. After twenty years they have over populated and are now Australia's number one pest. Bunnies damage the land and create deserts by eating all the plants. Since the bunny is killing the bilby, Australia decided to adopt the Bilby in place of the easter bunny. Instead of chocolate bunnies, there are chocolate Bilbys. Funds from the sale of the chocolate bilbys go towards helping the endangered animals.
I think it is good that they are trying to save the species and it was very unresponsible to release a foreign animal onto Australia. And now bunnies are pests. Karma man, karma. Bilbys are pretty cute, they're like a mix between rats and bunnies.

That is a very interesting story. It is kind of ironic that they tried to spread a new species and ended up endangering one they had before. Sounds like someone was very creative in order to think of such a ploy to raise money. The easter bunny is such a symbol in the world as we know it, so it is funny to me that they changed it.
